I have always wondered about the meaning of the near-death experience that I had at the age of three. Many NDE experiencers find it difficult to come back from that place of unconditional love. I surely did, but now I believe I have the answer.

In 2023 my granddaughter, Eleanor, and I began what we call The Kindness Project. It started simply. Eleanor, my husband and I were headed to Wyoming to visit our son. I spontaneously thought to bring twelve little angel tokens to randomly pass out. We were astonished at how they touched people. The baggage clerk teared up. A flight attendant said, "This is my grandma!" (Her grandmother had just passed away.) When we returned home, Eleanor and I decided to put encouraging messages in little bags to include with the tokens.

We have now passed out over 1800 (and counting!)  kindness tokens. We've taken them to schools, retirement homes, workshops, even restaurants! Eleanor and I were featured on a local TV station and an international webinar.

I directly tie The Kindness Project to the action of the barber so many years ago. One act of kindness brought compassion into my childhood so devoid of love. It reminded my soul of the unconditional love I experienced on the "other side" when I was three years old.

This project reconnected me to a truth — that we are here on this Earth to love and be loved. We all need love to thrive. Unconditional love is the strongest force on Earth, stronger than any trauma.

An artist, Bliss, learned of the project and created the Angel of Kindness you see here. The angel emanates the energy of kindness. We are now putting prints of this angel into the token bags.

I am a very private person and in telling my story I expose myself and feel a vulnerability. Yet I know this is what I am meant to do. Each time we pass out tokens, I am attempting to duplicate what that barber did for me — to give a little taste of the unconditional love found on the "other side."

So, Green Glitter Girl and The Kindness Project are woven together with the near-death experience. They are my way of trying to communicate the miracle of healing and the redemptive quality of love.
